John K. Singlaub
MAJOR GENERAL US ARMY RETIRED – In Memoriam
Major General John K. Singlaub’s World War II duties included an OSS parachute mission into occupied France to organize, train and lead a French Resistance unit which provided assistance to the allied invasion forces.
He then went to China to train and lead Chinese guerrillas against the Japanese. Just before the Japanese surrender, he led a parachute rescue mission behind enemy lines which resulted in the surrender of an enemy Prisoner of War camp and the subsequent release of 400 Allied prisoners.
General Singlaub was assigned as Chief of a U.S. Military Liaison Mission to Mukden, Manchuria, where he served for three years immediately following World War II. He served two tours during the Korean war, one with the CIA in Korea and the other as an infantry battalion commander.
General Singlaub served also as commander of the Joint Unconventional Warfare Task Force (MACVSOG) in Vietnam, and later served as the Assistant Division Commander of the 8th Infantry Division in Germany.
He served as the Chief of Staff, United Nations Command, United States Forces, Korea, and the Eighth U.S. Army in Seoul, Korea. Concomitantly, he served as the U.N. Commander Senior Military Member of the Military Armistice Commission at Panmunjom.
Interspersed with the above wartime command positions were numerous training assignments both at home and abroad. General Singlaub was instrumental in the establishment of the Ranger Training Center at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he also served as an instructor. He helped establish the Modern Army Selected Systems Test, Evaluation and Review activity at Fort Hood, Texas. He was designated the Commander responsible for training and combat-readiness of the Army Reserve and Army National Guard Units in a ten-state area. General Singlaub was also appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Drug and Alcohol Abuse.
The General’s 35 year military career has frequently reflected vanguard military action, having been awarded more than 33 military decorations including the Distinguished Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, The Silver Star Medal, the Legion of Merit with two Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Purple Heart with Oak leaf Cluster.
Born July 10, 1921 in Independence, California, General Singlaub is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles where he was Cadet Colonel of the ROTC. He graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and subsequently served as an instructor on its faculty. In addition, he is a graduate of the Air War College.
Following retirement from the U.S. Army, General Singlaub traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad lecturing on national security issues with special emphasis on the requirements to maintain U.S. forces in Korea and the need to upgrade and consolidate the U.S. Special Operations Forces.
General Singlaub’s career was chronicled in his autobiography, Hazardous Duty – An American Soldier in the Twentieth Century, published in 1991 by Summit Books, a division of Simon & Schuster.
David Keith Freeman

David Keith Freeman’s intelligence and investigative career began in the Army Reserve Officer’s Training Corp. at the University of Florida. He was a Special Investigator with the National Corporate Security firm GHI where he received comprehensive training in Executive Protection, Advanced Issues of Surveillance, and Advanced Investigative Technique. He was a member of the Austin Police Department Crisis – Team.
He was Chief Investigator with the Florida Claims Bureau where he received 5 Investigator of the quarter awards and was named Investigator of the year. He served as Director at Large for the Silent Witness, one of the largest Corporate Private Investigation and Security Agencies in the US.
He is the President and co-founder, with Major General John K. Singlaub US Army, (ret.) of the Jedburgh Group. The Jedburgh Group was created to provide Executive Services, Intelligence analysis and support to organizations on a worldwide scale. The Group combines intelligence gathering, analysis, and security services with proven management skills.
He is an author and a recognized expert in the field of investigations and fraud. He has written and published several books including “The Encyclopedia of Investigations”, “Defending the Plaintiff”, and “E.R.A.S.E. Fraud” (Evaluate Reduce and Systematically Eliminate Fraud). Mr. Freeman has traveled extensively in the US and abroad lecturing on advanced issues of investigative technique, financial fraud protection and corporate security.
He is a Florida State Investigations Agency Owner and Licensed Private Investigator.
He previously held series 22 and 63 Financial Securities Licenses and was a registered member of FINRA – Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He is a member of AFIO – The Association of Former Intelligence Officers and the OSS Society, Washington, D.C. He is a member of CNP – The Council for National Policy – Washington, D.C.
He is a professional SCUBA Instructor and Dive Master, P.A.D.I., Skydiver, United States Parachute Association, USPA AFF Accelerated Free Fall Program and Martial Artist, Black Belt/Instructor American TaeKwonDo Federation, ATF.
William (Chip) Beck
SENIOR ASSOCIATE EMERITUS
CDR Beck’s career was in Special Operations and Naval Intelligence. He served on active duty several times over 33 years in the Reserves. When not on active duty, he was a Senior Operations Officer in the Clandestine Service, until retiring from the Central Intelligence Agency in 1993.
He joined the enlisted Reserves in 1964 and was commissioned through OCS in January 1968. He began his career as a frogman and demolitions expert. In 1969 he served as a Forward Observer with 3rd MARDIV in Vietnam, engaging in numerous combat actions along the DMZ.
While in Vietnam, he was selected for advanced training as a special warfare officer with CIA’s Special Operations Group. From 1971 into 1975, he served in remote locations in Laos and Cambodia as an advisor to guerrilla forces and to indigenous Lao and Khmer infantry units. At the end of the war, he established escape routes from Cambodia, and led 200 men, women, and children to safety during, and after, Operation Eagle Pull.
After the end of the Indochina War, he entered into a series of military, intelligence, and diplomatic assignments in Africa, Asia, Central and South America, the Middle East, Europe, and the Soviet Union. He served in combat or hazardous duty tours in Angola, the Western Sahara, Sudan, El Salvador, Honduras/Nicaragua, Beirut (Multinational Force), Panama (Just Cause), Colombia, and the Gulf War.
During Operation Desert Storm, CDR Beck was recalled to active duty and served as the Navy’s official Combat Artist with Navy and Marine forces. Following his retirement in l993 from the Clandestine Service, he was again recalled for ADSW for assignments with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, the Joint Chiefs of Staff (J2), and the Defense POW/MIA Office.
CDR Beck is a credentialed NCIS Reserve Agent, and has been a Reserve Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, and Department Head in five Reserve Intelligence Area 19 (Washington, D.C.) units.
CDR Beck was awarded 30 campaign, service, unit, and personal awards. He is a Navy Diver and Navy Parachutist. In 1996, he retired from the Navy Reserves and makes a living as an editorial cartoonist and a writer.
During his tour with the Defense POW/MIA Office, CDR Beck became convinced that American POWs were transferred to Soviet Gulags in W.W.I, The Depression, W.W.II, Korea, the Cold War, and Vietnam. As of 2000, he is continuing his investigations into this mystery as a journalist and has traveled to both former and current communist countries in this pursuit.

Special Agent and Senior Agent – Investigation Division of the Gaming Control Board of Nevada. Responsible for all background and financial investigations in foreign countries. Tracked financial holdings to a specific source of funds.
Geographical Areas:
Asia: Lived in Korea, Vietnam and Thailand. Worked in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. Controlled field search teams from all military services for casualty recovery operations in Southeast Asia to determine the status of U.S. personnel missing in action.

Africa: Was responsible for the evacuation of civilian personnel from the former Zaire (Democratic Republic of the Congo). Was in charge of a detachment responsible for the formation of radio relay stations throughout North and East Africa to track U.S. satellites.
